State Of The Art Techniques
Microsurgical Techniques
We very often use a laser-like device to do microsurgery in reshaping or recontouring gum tissue. This is especially helpful in our cosmetic procedures when we are enhancing a patient's smile. The benefits of this technique are that it is virtually pain free with very rapid healing.
Intraoral Camera
Our intraoral camera system is a miniaturized T.V. camera used inside your mouth. It allows us to show you details of hard-to-reach areas. The images are magnified and displayed on a T.V. monitor. These images can be "freeze-framed" and multiple pictures can be viewed simultaneously. The images can also be saved or printed for case documentation or for insurance needs. Our hygiene team uses this routinely during your hygiene visits to assure your level of optimum health. By using the intraoral camera, we can detect early stages of gum disease and decay. Early detection allows us to provide more conservative, less complicated treatment.
Intraoral Magnification
Dr. Ross routinely uses customized surgical telescopes which magnify 3 1/2 times. This magnification allows Dr. Ross to see minute detail and allows extra lighting for maximum quality control.
Sterilization
Your safety and well being is our top priority. We guarantee that our office meets or exceeds all government and OSHA-required standards for sterilization. We use as many disposable items as possible. All of our instruments and dental hand pieces are sterilized in a hospital-grade autoclave. Gloves and dental masks are worn by all staff and changed for each patient. All work surfaces are disinfected after each patient's use. We welcome any further questions on our sterilization standards.
